Understanding billing cycles

Billing Cycles

Jewel Value bills monthly. Your billing cycle starts the day you subscribe and renews on that calendar day each month.

Free trial

New accounts come with a 14-day free trial on the Basic plan. No card is required up front.

  • Day 7: a banner appears reminding you to add a payment method
  • Day 13: the banner becomes more prominent
  • Day 14: a one-time modal asks you to choose a plan
  • Day 14 onwards: write actions are blocked until you subscribe; you can still read your data

Plan changes

Upgrading takes effect immediately and is prorated. Downgrading takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Payment methods

Standalone accounts pay through Stripe — open Settings > Billing and click Manage Payment Method to update your card.

Shopify-installed accounts are billed through Shopify's app subscription system; the Manage Plan button in Settings opens the Shopify Admin pricing page.

Failed payments

If a charge fails:

  • Stripe retries automatically over 3 weeks
  • Your account moves to past_due state — read access stays, write access is preserved during the retry window
  • You can fix it any time from Settings > Billing

Refunds

We offer a full refund within the first 30 days. Contact support@jewelvalue.app from the email on your account.
