The customer portal

The customer portal lets your customers see their valuations and download certificates without an account or password.

How customers sign in

1. The customer goes to jewelvalue.app/portal.
2. They enter the email address on their customer record and select Send access code.
3. They enter the 6-digit code from the email. Codes expire after 15 minutes.
4. If their email address is registered with more than one jeweller, they choose which jeweller's valuations to see.

A portal session lasts up to 24 hours.

What customers see

Their valuations from your business, with item photos, and certificate downloads once a certificate has been issued.

Making sure it works

• The portal finds valuations by the email address on the customer record, so keep it accurate — see Managing customers.
• Tell customers to use the same address you hold for them.

Sharing a direct link

You can also send a customer a direct link to one valuation, which opens without an access code:

1. Open an approved valuation and select Share link.
2. Choose how long the link works — 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days, or 1 year — and, if you like, switch on Single Use Link so it stops working after it is first opened.
3. Select Generate Link, then copy it or send it with Email or WhatsApp.

Staff, managers, admins and owners can create links. The Active links list in the same window shows every link that still works, when it expires and how many times it has been opened. Select the bin icon to revoke a link — anyone who opens it afterwards is told it is no longer valid.

A link shows the valuation's photos, value and certificate details, and the certificate download once it has been issued. Customers who were sent a link can also paste it into the portal's Have a link? tab.

Verification

Anyone can check a certificate with its QR code or number — see Verifying a certificate with its QR code.
