Amendments and superseded certificates

An amendment is how you correct a valuation after it has been approved. The issued original is never changed: the amendment is a new, linked valuation that replaces the original once it's approved.

Who can create one

Managers, admins and owners, from an Approved or Archived valuation that hasn't already been superseded.

Create an amendment

  1. Open the valuation and select Create an amendment.
  2. Enter a Reason for correction (at least 5 characters) and select Create amendment draft.
  3. The new draft opens in the wizard with the original's details copied in. Make the corrections.
  4. Submit it, then approve it as usual.

If an amendment draft already exists for that valuation, you're taken back to it rather than getting a second one.

The amendment shows Amendment of Original valuation with your reason, and has its own reference number.

When the amendment is approved

  • The original is marked as superseded. Its page shows This historical valuation has been superseded, with a link to the approved amendment.
  • Scanning the original certificate's QR code, or entering its certificate number on the verification page, now reports that it has been superseded by an approved amendment. See Verifying a certificate with its QR code.
  • Generate a certificate for the amendment and send it to the customer.

Issued certificates never change

Once a certificate PDF has been issued, Jewel Value keeps that exact file. Downloading it again, or selecting Regenerate Certificate, gives you the same document. Later changes to branding, templates or settings only affect certificates issued afterwards — to change what a certificate says, create an amendment.
