Adding images and photos

Clear photos make a certificate far more useful if the item is ever lost or damaged.

Adding photos

On the wizard's Valuation step, drag photos into Images or select files. JPEG, PNG and WebP files up to 10 MB each are accepted. The first photo is marked Primary; hover over a photo and select the cross to remove it.

Shots worth taking

• The whole item, centred, on a plain background
• Close-ups of the main stones
• Hallmarks and maker's marks
• Any damage or repairs

What prints on the certificate

Certificates show the primary photo by default. An owner or admin can change this under Settings > Branding, Certificates tab, Brand theme, Item photos:

• Primary photo only (the default)
• Gallery (multiple photos): the primary photo plus additional views, up to four photos in all
• Hidden (no photo)

The brand theme is part of custom branding, so this choice needs the Professional or Enterprise plan (or an active trial).

Customers who sign in to the customer portal can also see the item photos.

Replacing a photo

While a valuation is a Draft or Pending Review, select Edit on the valuation page and change the photos on the Valuation step. After approval the valuation can't be edited; to change its photos, create an amendment — see Amendments and superseded certificates.
