Adding images and photos

Photos

Good photos are the difference between a certificate that survives an insurance claim and one that doesn't.

Required shots

  • Top view: full item, centred, on a neutral background
  • Detail of any gemstone: close enough to see the stone's character
  • Hallmarks: macro shot of any stamps on the metal

Recommended additional shots

  • Reverse / underside: settings, hidden hallmarks
  • Side profile: depth of stones, ring shank thickness
  • Wear shot (optional): item on the customer if they consent

Specs

  • JPEG or PNG, up to 10 MB per file
  • Minimum 1500px on the long edge for sharp PDF output
  • Sensible lighting — diffused, no flash directly on the stone

Where photos appear

Up to 4 photos render on the PDF certificate, in a 2x2 grid in the Item Photographs section. The first photo also appears on the customer-portal share page.

Retake from the detail page

If a photo turns out to be poor quality, you can replace it from the valuation detail page without re-creating the whole valuation.
